NISSAN MOTOR KYUSHU – KYUSHU, JAPAN
Kyushu is the south-westernmost of Japan’s main islands, and enjoys a subtropical climate. Nissan Motor Kyushu is located in Fukuoka prefecture. The capital of this prefecture, also called Fukuoka, is known (among many other things) for being the site of a legendary concert by the American jam band Phish on June 14, 2000. The performance is noted for featuring more patient, delicate stylings than the group was typically known for at the time.

DONGFENG MOTOR CORPORATION – WUHAN, CHINA
Dongfeng Motor Corporation is a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer headquartered in Wuhan, China. The company enjoys a longstanding relationship with Nissan, helping them to manufacture their vehicles, while Nissan, in turn, has assisted in the design and construction of many of the company’s models.

Nissan built their Saint Petersburg plant after signing a deal with the Russian government. The automotive and auto-parts industry has been steadily on the rise in this historical metropolis over the last ten years. It’s currently the fourth-most populous city in Europe.

WHY IS IT CALLED THE NISSAN ROGUE SPORT IN THE UNITED STATES?
As noted above, the Nissan Rogue Sport model currently available in America is actually the second generation of a model known in most of the world as the Nissan Qashqai. Nissan insists that it went with the name Rogue Sport in the U.S. due to the success of its beloved Rogue. However, some theorize that Nissan deduced that Americans would not be able to reliably pronounce “Qashqai,” and thus came up with an easier, more straightforward alternative.
